Are instructors DBS checked?

Yes — all instructors hold enhanced DBS checks and have experience working with young people, ensuring a safe and professional environment.
Is this suitable for shy or nervous children?

Yes — many of our students start off shy.
We create a supportive environment where they can build confidence and express themselves.
How many students are in each class?

We keep classes to around 10 so every student gets hands-on experience and personal guidance.
When do films get shown at the cinema?

All Stage 2 films are shown collectively each year during the Manchester Film Festival, giving students a real cinema premiere experience.
Do students need any experience?

No experience is needed.
Most of our students start as complete beginners — we guide them step-by-step so they can confidently create their own film.
What will my child gain from this?

Your child will learn practical filmmaking skills — but more importantly, they’ll build confidence, creativity, and teamwork skills.

What happens if my child wants to continue after the first session?

If your child attends the first session and chooses to continue, you will then be liable for the full course fee. This is because their place, equipment and production planning will have been reserved for the duration of the course. This helps us keep class sizes small and provide the best experience for all students.
