What’s Included
Weeks 1–3: Development & Pre-Production (Prep Phase)
Week 1 – Camera Refresh & Crew Setup
Hands-on with pro camera & sound equipment.
Recap key crew roles (Director, DOP, Producer, etc.)
Form your production team & assign departments.
Brainstorm themes and genre ideas.
Week 2 – Story Development & Script Outlining
Choose your final story idea.
Structure it into a short film format.
Begin scriptwriting with a focus on visual storytelling.
Start sketching basic shot ideas.
Week 3 – Casting, Rehearsals & Location Planning
In-class auditions and actor direction practice.
Rehearse key scenes with actors.
Plan locations, props, costumes, and shot list.
Get ready—filming begins next week!
Weeks 4–15: Filming the Short Film (12 Weeks)
🎬 This is where the magic happens. You'll shoot your film scene by scene, just like a real crew.
Week 4 – Lights, Camera, Action!
First day of filming!
Focus on camera setup, scene blocking, and capturing clean takes.
Weeks 5–10 – Production in Full Swing
Film multiple scenes across sessions.
Rotate support roles so everyone learns on-set problem-solving.
Focus on great visuals, audio, and performances.
Week 11 – Mid-Production Review
Watch some of the footage.
Make a filming checklist of what’s left or needs reshoots.
Continue filming scenes and polishing performances.
Weeks 12–14 – Final Shooting Days
Finish main scenes and pickups.
Capture B-roll, inserts, and behind-the-scenes content.
Week 15 – It’s a Wrap!
Final shoot day celebration.
Organise footage and prep for editing.
Weeks 16–20: Post-Production & Screening
Week 16 – Premiere Pro Editing Intensive
Organise footage, sync sound, and assemble your first cut.
Learn intermediate/advanced editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro.
Week 17 – Sound Design & Colour Grading
Add music, sound effects, and polish your audio.
Learn basic colour correction & mood grading techniques.
Week 18 and 19 – Final Cut Polish
Tighten edits, adjust audio levels, finalise effects and transitions.
Export rough and final versions.
Week 20 – 🎉 Premiere Night + Festival Countdown
In-class red carpet screening with family & friends!
Celebrate the hard work and teamwork.
